Nottingham Forest (a)

Have to say personally I have no idea how this one will go  Blush

Forest have a more than useful side and have only lost one PL game so far

Should be a fascinating game from a tactical viewpoint - be interesting to see what Ghostie & Eeeeen think.....

It's been pretty much as expected. Given the opportunity to press by a Forest side who are looking to hit us on the break, we've looked ponderous and flaccid in attack, devoid of ideas and lacking pace and incision. Tonali remains on the bench until the 65th minute or there abouts and we lose this game to another goal on the break. It will be either 2 - 0 or 2 - 1 to Forest. Depressingly predictable. I hope I'm wrong, but this just stinks of Eddie Howe.

Loads of the ball, just not done enough with it, a pretty typical Newcastle away performance going back 18 months now, only with slightly more possession.

Gordon and Isak doing no where enough to impact the game, both playing half heartedly, the defending from Isak for the goal demonstrating this as much as anything.

No idea what to change personnel wise, probably nothing yet, give it 15 minutes and see if we can get back into this and then look to the bench.

Appalling officiating so far, some of the worst I have seen against us so far this season.

Well, I'm glad I'm not a gambling man. A much improved second-half performance. Perhaps Howe will eventually give up on this 'we're a possession football kind of side' and finally admit that we're far more effective on the counter-attack. Lewis Hall was fantastic with Bruno not far behind and Joelinton was excellent in the second half. A deserved win, but not one that looked likely at half-time. Honest.

Fantastic 2nd half. Gordon and Isak came out different players, moving Joe to the right side worked a treat, we looked like a really well drilled outfit in that 2nd half, which hasn't been the case for a long time away from home.

Makes you wonder now what you do in terms of long term on the right wing. Gordon doesn't look particularly happy out there, but at home could be a good option, and with Joelinton looking good from both sides, do you potentially focus on getting someone who can do what Willock does, for when Willock isn't fit, as he completely transforms our style when he is in the midfield.

Lots of talking points and positives to take forward from this afternoon.

Just sayin

Most refs would have sorted him early

Yates is a lower league plodder doing the footballing equivalent of little man syndrome with players far beyond his ability. He's a horrible little fuck and he always has been, fingers crossed someone injures him before he injures someone else.
