Isak to Chelsea
Bruno to City
Then the one I never saw coming in a million years, Gordon to Liverpool?! Not just Gordon to Liverpool, but apparently he has been offered to Liverpool?!
What the fuck is the club doing? On the same day we are trying to get Elanga from Forest, it's like a Mike Ashley wind up, I can't honestly believe it has come to this. One of the best, most exciting wingers in the league, loved by the fans and a massive part of our success, leaving to strengthen a rival. In return, a headless chicken who failed at Man U and who would be an unmitigated disaster up here, coming in.
Might as well pack it all in if this is true, we had a fluke season in the Champions League but we will be destined to battle it out for mid table mediocrity if this is the transfer strategy, despite being told how ambitious the ownership was and how they wanted to challenge for titles. Trading a Champions League player for a Championship player, and someone like Gordon who is so widely liked, and rightly so, would be as big a stab in the back as I can remember. What sort of message would this send to Isak and Bruno, because if Gordon was sold and I was either one of those players, I would be wanting out of the club as quick as possible.
PSR can royally go fuck itself, I know this is largely behind this, but I would rather we took a points hit (stupid take, I know) than sell someone like Gordon. It's also a terrible indictment for where we are heading if we think someone of Elanga's ability will be able to take the club forward, what sort of transfer strategy is this, regardless of funds available, it's an absolute disaster.
I hope I am wetting the bed, but the Gordon story is moving fast, and with too many details to be passed off as media bull shit.
Pack the lot up if this where this weekend leaves us. It puts a HUGE question mark over the owners, who have clearly not boxed within the (stupid) rules of FFP, and it also puts a huge nail in the coffin for clubs like us, who are this hamstrung by PSR, from ever competing.
I had a feeling Bruno would go to City for a number of different reasons, but this is a sickener.
