I thought McLaren wanted these in place on Monday, what's happening is he waiting on Simpson at derby? zenden both these would require compensation something Ashley previously wouldn't want to pay, maybe someone else?

Its gone very quiet...........:aaagh:

What's the rush? Don't worry, I'm sure we'll appoint them a day before the season starts and probably announce it the same time as we unveil the re-signing of our one ad only signing, Shola...

On a serious note, aye the need to hurry the feck up!

I think I have this sorted.

Remember our old mate on here.
"2 in by Tuesday"
Is it just a coincidence that they were both called Steve and their timing is diabolical?

Must be something about these folks called Steve who just get everything wrong eh. fecking muppets.

Ah, hang on a minute.........................

I think I read somewhere that Simpson has now been told he is no longer required at derby and is free to a good home.

I do wonder what the delay is though as you would imagine this would be the easier part of the new McClaren era to set up. The whole club seem to have difficulties with deadlines huh!

Maybe its just the width of the line that they have to cross?

are you suggesting that our line is similar in proportions to a rectangle? So wide as to be more difficult to cross than the Korean border? Maybe we aught to find it and build a tunnel to ease further transfers :D

Maybe it's a cryptic line than once you cross you're back to the start? The mobius continuum of lines.

I wonder if it's a line of dubious substances which after being started causes the potential signings to forget what they were doing and go out looking for a party somewhere instead, wiping their noses as they head off down the Bigg Market and wondering why they came to Newcastle.

That'll be the line we used with Bramble and Dyer? Allegedly.

Ah yes, Dyer.
The subject of my favourite ever Toon story from someone in the know at the time.

My best mate as a kid went in the marines then became a fitness coach.
He worked with the England cricket team amongst others before ending up at the Toon.

Was talking to him about Dyer and his injuries at the time and asked why he missed the previous weekends game after appearing to be fit.
He then started laughing and told me Dyer had been with some bird just before the weekend and took some Viagra.
He still had the horn the day of the game and was declared unavailable for selection :D:D:D

I kid you not.
