How great is it to see a 40 year old British athlete win a Gold medal at the European Athletics Championships.
This isn't like The Olympics where you get a lot of "sports" such as shooting and archery where age has no relevance.

This was the hard slog that is the 10 000 metres.
I couldn't walk that far, yet alone run it these days.

Jo Pavey did it yesterday.
Not a massive athletics fan, but feats like this are worthy of a mention.
A cracking achievement by someone who many might have suggested was "over the hill" at her age.
She is now considering competing at the Olympics in Rio at the age of 42.

Well done Jo, an inspiration to any of us over 40's
"We are not a stepping stone, we are Newcastle United. Every player should be honoured to wear the shirt of this club" Rafa Benitez.
Tremendous achievement and just goes to show that no matter what your age if you look after yourself and still have the desire then the hard work pays off. :clap:
inspirational indeed :clap::clap:
